Personal QR Codes
Personal QR codes are intended for peer to peer payments. These QR codes are not registered for commercial use. When you pay a personal QR code using Moreta, the fee is:
- 4 THB + 2.5% of the transaction amount
The THB fixed fee is added to the Thai baht payment amount, and the total is then converted into USD. The final charge appears in USD in the app before you confirm the payment.
Some businesses may still choose to collect payments using a personal QR code, even if they appear to operate as a store. In these cases, the personal QR code fee applies.
You will always see the exact fee before you confirm the payment in the app.
Business QR Codes
Business QR codes are registered for merchant use. These QR codes have lower processing requirements, so your fee is simply:
- 1.5% of the transaction amount
There are no fixed add on charges for business QR codes.
⚠️ Thailand QR payments are paused for all users since 29 June. Exception: customers with a US or Canada passport can still pay with business Thai QR. Personal ThaiQR is not supported yet.
