Can I receive money into my Moreta wallet?

Last updated on Jun 02, 2026

Moreta is built to let you pay like a local when you travel — you add money to your wallet, then scan QR codes to pay merchants in supported countries. It is not designed for receiving money, so there are a few things worth clearing up.

There is no "receive" feature

Moreta does not have a Receive screen, and there is no personal QR code for collecting money. You cannot receive a payment from another person directly into your Moreta wallet, and another Moreta user cannot send their balance to yours. Peer-to-peer transfers are on our future roadmap, but they are not available today.

How money actually gets into your wallet

Your balance is funded only by the deposit methods in the app:

  • Card — add money with a debit or credit card.

  • Bank transfer — USD (US bank), EUR (SEPA), or GBP (UK Faster Payments).

  • Crypto — USDC or USDT on the Solana network.

See How to deposit EUR or GBP into your Moreta Wallet and Add Money to Moreta Using Your Debit or Credit Card for step-by-step guides.

If someone wants to send you money

Because there's no receive feature, ask them to send the money to your bank account instead. Once it lands in your bank, you can deposit it into Moreta using any of the methods above.
