How to pay with a QR code in Peru

Last updated on Jun 02, 2026

Moreta is live in Peru. You pay merchants the local way: scan their QR code and confirm in the app.

Getting ready

  1. Fund your wallet using a supported deposit method (card, USD/EUR/GBP bank transfer, or USDC/USDT on Solana).

  2. Check you have sufficient USD balance for the purchase.

At the merchant

  1. Open the Moreta app → scan QR.

  2. Scan the merchant's payment QR (shop terminal, sticker, or digital display).

  3. Enter the amount in Peruvian soles (PEN) if needed.

  4. Review merchant details and the 1.5% transaction fee shown in the app.

  5. Confirm the payment.

Conversion from USD uses the mid-market rate shown before you pay.

If something goes wrong

  • QR not supported — ask the merchant for a standard business QR used for card/wallet payments.

  • Insufficient balance — add money and try again.

  • Pending payment — see Why is my payment pending? (published article).

Contact support through the app if the issue continues.

💡 Tips

  • Each QR payment has a 1.5% transaction fee — see Understanding Moreta's Transaction Fees.

  • Start with a small test payment if you're new to QR checkout in Peru.

  • There is no receive money feature in Moreta — only pay-out flows and deposits.
