You can use Moreta in Bolivia to pay at merchants that display a local QR code for checkout.
How it works
Moreta is not a bank account in Bolivia — it's a USD wallet that lets you scan and pay merchant QRs like a local. The app converts your balance to bolivianos (BOB) when you pay.
Step-by-step
-
Add money to Moreta (card, bank transfer, or crypto on Solana).
-
At the merchant, open Moreta and scan their QR code.
-
Enter or confirm the amount in BOB.
-
Review the merchant name and total.
-
Slide to pay.
Common questions
Do I need a local Bolivian bank account?
No — you fund Moreta from your usual deposit methods, then pay by QR.
Can I receive money on Moreta?
No. There's no receive screen or personal receive QR. To get funds in, use a deposit; to get paid by someone else, use your bank account and deposit afterward.
Can I pay a friend?
If they're in a supported country, you may be able to scan their bank account QR — see Can I send money to a friend with Moreta?
